We believe that the central task of education is to implant a will for learning; and it should produce not learned but learning people. The truly human society is a learning society, where grand parents and children are students together. The purpose of education is to teach a student how to live a life by developing his mind and equipping him to deal with reality. He has to be taught to think to understand, to integrate, to prove. He has to be taught the essentials of the knowledge discovered in the past and he has to be equipped to acquire further knowledge by his own effort.
"A teacher who establishes rapport with the taught, becomes one with them, learns more from them than he teaches them. He who learns nothing from his disciples is, in my opinion, worthless. Whenever I talk with someone I learn from him. I take from him more than I give him. In this way, a true teacher regards himself as a student of his students. If you will teach your pupils with this attitude, you will benefit much from them " - Gandhiji
